It is refreshing to see someone become active in their community in the short time you have lived in Millville. I believe a challenger to the Town Clerk’s position has been long over due in this town.
Let’s look at the current Town Clerk’s office held by Ms. McNamara. It well known that she owns much land in Town, and has been in a family feud over it for quite some time. She has been double dipping on the taxpayer dollar between her dual role as Town Clerk and Asst’ Assessor for the Town. Heck, she just manipulated herself in a nice 20% pay raise at a Town Meeting which was poorly attended by residents. Of course, she had a stacked vote ready to go with Camp Mary supporters. I’ll agree with the BOS on that one, a pay raise was in order but not at 20%. She seems to have a problem following rules like everyone else such her dog in the Town Hall, and filing Town Warrant Articles.
I hope that none of her actions come back to haunt this Town with liability issues !
Good Luck Mrs. Milliken … and remember that there have been past elections with new faces being elected ! Just speak to the voters and they will listen …
What a great profile !! Hope it gets out to the Millville Residents as they will have a great, energetic , and devoted choice on election day. Thank you for your interest in the Town. Dick Mercure
Hello.
I haven't had a problem with any of our workers at town hall. I have found them respectful and helpful. I applaud anyone who would like to be considered for office, but there is no need to be mean. It seems as though everyone who has the courage to try to be elected to town office is treated badly. This hurts our town.
Joyce you are like a breath of fresh air. Perhaps you could give lessons to those who can't enjoy the same.
I certainly agree with you, anyone who is willing to give of themselves for the town, should be applauded for their efforts.
Have a wonderful day
Paulette Mercure
Kim,
Good luck and "kudos" to you on a wonderful "resume'"! You have shown a lot of hard work and dedication to the town of Millville in the five years that you and your family have lived here. I support you and know the town will benefit from someone as motivated as you! Linda S!
Dear Mr. Laura and Mr. Poulin,
I do not know very much about you as candidates. I take my vote very seriously and would like to understand more about you two. If this is not the right forum for you, would you please let me know where to find more information. Others may want to know too.
Joyce D.
I too would like to hear where John and Charlie are on the issues. But if they are campaigning through the Blog, I know where their heads are at. Personal vendetta's. Millville deserves better.
It saddens me to think that Mr. Poulin and Mr. Laura do not take advantage of posting their reasons for running for a Town Office, on this forum. Why??- I ask myself, as a registered voter, wouldn't a candidate accept this opportunity to tell us who they really are and why they choose to run for office...Could it be "peronalities" again?? You'll never get my vote with that attitude my friends..I feel this show alot of immaturity..I'm hoping you both will reconsider and give us your profile and something for the voters to make a good judgement when we enter the voting booth....Thanks!!
Thats right Charlie,no info no votes. Also how do you feel about the application and permitting process in Millville, seems you would rather skip the whole thing. How's that new barn coming ?
Full of enthusiasm, the gals had gone into politics and were out of the house campaigning most of the day. The other night one gal returned home about 10 and just sank into a chair. "Everything's great,"she said confidently-- "We're going to sweep the town" Her husband wearily looked around the house and said: "That's nice, dear , but why not start in our kitchen?"
Heh lighter side, don't quit your day job.
To Anonymous: I don't need a day job...Isn't that a bit of luck now???
