Our (2) Chiefs have planned a Public Safety Day. Main St (Rt. 122) will be blocked off in front of the Fire Station from 12 - 8pm anyway. Come on down and enjoy the day. All citizens should celebrate that all town public safety officials work together. What a concept.

Just got back from tonights festivities...great turn out. A celebration of our police & fire departments working together...and the citizens of Millville benefit.
I heard the police dept is run professionally and fair. I heard the police and fire departments have lunch together sometimes. That NEVER happened in the past. Heard some rumblings about ex-501 not being able to let things go...he's pulling a Sue Mac...also heard some town employee's tried their best to throw some monkey wrenches into the festivities..didn't work thankfully ...the town came out and supported the two chiefs and their staffs... the town has chosen to move on...
The bonfire this evening was awesome...I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Be proud Millville.
What an awesome time we spent at the Safety Day. The heat was certainly a big factor for all, but I never heard anything from anyone that was negative. Certain people are just plain pitiful for the negativity they possess. I am sure a great time was had by all. We must all live for today, and go on to work to keep this community together.
As for the bonfire, we had the best seats...of course they were all the best seats. The show was tremendous and certainly well worth the wait. I must comment too, on something that amazed me. It was the fact that we saw people there from newborn to into the 80's. How rewarding was that??? All together in town for the same purpose, to have a great time. Thanks so much to both the police and fire departments for time well spent.

My family did not attend the public safety day. Though I was looking forward to it. We were planning to go down after dinner but it had dispersed. I am not complaining, those are things that unforeseeable with any new event. Live and learn! I also used the detour during the day and was pleased with the set up. Being able to cross Main Street at the light from Lincoln to Central was a great convenience to those who live on the south side of town. I hope they do it again.
Many of my friends went and raved about how great it was! Demonstrations, raffles, food, and fun for all!
Kudos to the MPD and Fire Association!
Where was Charlie?
I did not see him at public safety day.Rumor has it that he was doing a plumbing job at the Ethics Commission with Bozo.
