I heard there may have been some fireworks at the last selectmen's meeting...it would be hard to figure out unless you could lip read...not that I watch them all the time...I don't...but if for whatever reason I would like to, it should be available...
The Cable Commissions sole responsibility is to make sure the towns citizens can turn on the TV and keep up to date on what's happening in town...it appears some of the people we have on the commission think to the contrary...it's really troubling and is pretty much more of the same..."I've lived her my whole life so I know what's best"...actually I think it's been proved no you don't...
There are some in town who think unless you have lived here longer than 40 years, you don't get a say...I have been here going on 9 years...but I don't care if I was here for 1...when the tax bill shows up in my mailbox, that gives me equal rights to anyone who has been here 70 years...there is no disputing that fact...
If you feel the same way...call town hall and demand cable access be provided for all Millville citizens now...enough of this cronyism...I tire of it

Just as an FYI one of the things that was brought up at the meetings that there was no sound needs addressing. I read your post from Nov. about the assessors and the numbers are in. The 145 inspections have been done by the outside company. Some of these inspections were from 2006. The total amount of new growth came to 2.8MILLION from those inspections, for an increase of $26k in tax revenue. This info is public record and in the minutes of those meetings. Keep in mind this is cumulative. By my estimation this has already cost us (since 2006) appx. $50K. Ironically, this could have saved the town hall hours and the assistant assesor. Ain't kharma a bitch!
Sounds like we can add 50K to the tab she's running up...what a racket. Heat's on though :-)...
Demand cable be turned back on...let's all watch the show.
Cable Advisory Committee Responsibility;
Responsibilities: To advise the Board of Selectmen on public, educational and governmental cable access policies, procedures and programming; review complaints, suggestions and issues raised relative to the cable system, the licensee and the services provided and make recommendations to the Board of Selectmen on such matters; oversee grant money; recommend equipment, programs and cable needs; responsible for the filming of town events to be shown on the Town’s cable access channel.
I don't read anything in there that says they get to turn it off because they don't get along with town hall. Time for the chair to step down. I'm sure Mrs. Carroll is between a rock and a hard place.
Oh, I forgot to mention, those 145 inspections only cost the town under $5k to have done! That is a far cry from the salary we were paying for the job to not get done. Fortunately the finance committee budgeted for the inspections to be outsourced exclusively from this point forward. Thanks for reading.
Thanks for contributing....come back often !!
